NSF Messengers Proof of Principle: One of Our Graduates On the Nightly News

In October of 2011, the NSF “Science: Becoming the Messenger” workshop traveled to Morgantown, West Virginia for a training of scientists at West Virginia University and other in-state institutions.

One of our students there, Bea Vianna, runs the local science cafe, called “Science on Tap.” Recently, “Science on Tap” made the nightly news in Morgantown as an innovative example of science outreach by the university–and Vianna appeared on air with some sound-bites. She tells us she was trying to think of her “message triangle” (which we teach) the whole time!
